    Cool

Now now, it's not fair to call all althetes "dumb jocks".

I know I'm more of a sports fan than most in here.

If you're gonna call althetes overpaid, then you have to say all entertainers are overpaid. There is not much difference between paying to see a concert or show or even a movie than there is in paying to see a game.

I think ALL athletes AND entertainers are way overpaid!!!!
And I'll grant you, there are many good athletes and entertainers BUT they are all overpaid. When someone is paid millions a $ for being an athlete or an entertainer & the President is paid only $250,000.00 (the last I knew) something is definitely wrong with our country.

Another thing that makes me angry is when one person (Donald Trump I mean) can live in lavish HOMES and (I'll admit that I have never heard of him doing anything for charities) with all the wealth you could imagine and not give to charity (like Bill Gates & Oprah Winfrey and Anthony Munoz do)there is something wrong with him & our country!!

"But come out with a letter from Hollyweird with actors endorsing Kerry and it will be all over the news and you'll be jumping up & down with joy."

Well, that's what makes this list of athletes so amusing. Right wingers keep saying they want Hollywood to STFU, completely ignoring conservative actors such as Bruce Willis, James Woods, Arnold Schwartzenegger, Ronald Reagan fer cryin' out loud, and many others. Then they pounce on this list of celebrities as if it has significance. I'm sure an equivalent list could be made of athletes that support Kerry, but who cares?

I'd prefer to look at endosements from professionals in the field. Here's one from a group called "Diplomats and Military Commanders for Change".
A statement from the group notes its more than two dozen members include Democrats and Republicans who have "served every president since Harry S. Truman." They contend Bush's foreign policy has failed at "preserving national security and providing world leadership."

Members expressing their opposition in the statement are former senior diplomatic, national security and military officials.

    CNN article

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Add to that former head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Crowe and former head of CIA Stansfield Turner - now those are some impressive lists!
